The headliners of the 2017 Outdoor News Deer and Turkey Classic are headliners once again on the outdoors television front.
Raised Hunting, the show chronicling the lives and adventures of the Holder family, will now air solely on the Discovery Channel, starting in July.
According to a news release, the move to a larger platform allows the show to reach a larger audience and to “use this new platform to shed light on the side of hunting that has less to do with killing and puts a larger focus on the feelings, ethics, and values of each hunting experience.”
“Hunting has long needed a positive role model to reach out beyond the current hunters of the world and introduce the other side of hunting to those who haven’t experienced it yet,” said David Holder, founder of Raised Hunting.
Also according to the release, airing on a mainstream network like Discovery Channel will allow Raised Hunting to not only reach a wider and more diverse audience, but also to have a bigger impact on hunters and non-hunters alike.
Throughout the last five seasons, Raised Hunting has followed David, wife Karin and their two sons, Warren and Easton, on every hunt, through the ups and downs of family life, on the Outdoor Channel. All four of the Holders were on hand when the family headlined the 2017 Classic at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul. This year’s Classic headliners were Tiffany and Lee Lakosky of the Outdoor Channel’s The Crush.
